Jose Sales Givaudan (Chance-to-Dance Artist 2022)
Hailing from Mexico City, Jose graduated from the Centro de Arte y Ballet school with a BFA in Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance, learning the varied techniques of Balanchine, Ballet Cubano, and Vaganova. While in Mexico City, he performed at the prestigious Teatro Esperanza Iris, Unidad Independencia, and Teatro Elenico and worked with Benjamin Briones, Elena Petrichenriko, Vladimir Kuzkin, Jetzemani Velazco, and Jorge Vega. He received an offer to dance with Ballet de la Ciudad de Mexico but turned it down to work with the New York Dance Project in New York City.In the US, Jose has performed at the Lincoln Jazz Centre and danced with CAPA Ballet Company, Chattanooga Ballet, and Bossov Ballet Theatre in Pittsfield, Maine, performing roles in Swan Lake and the Nutcracker, including the Cavalier role. An actor as well, his theatre credits include The little Mermaid, Sister Act, and Hercules. He joined Neville Dance Theatre as part of their ‘Chance-to-Dance’ program in the Spring of 2022.
